Summary

Maryland Medicaid recipients can now disenroll from their MCO to follow their primary care provider when the provider's contract is terminated for non-quality reasons or due to rate disputes. MCOs must notify the state at least 30 days before provider terminations and provide recipient lists via email.

Immediately: MCOs must notify Maryland's Division of Health Choice Management at least 30 days before any provider contract terminations for continuity of care reasons. Submit recipient lists including names, Medical Assistance numbers, and provider information via Excel spreadsheet to RodgvilleH@dhmh.state.md.us or BlagmonJ@dhmh.state.md.us. Update enrollment systems to accept disenrollment source code C-3 for daily transaction processing.
