Summary
Maryland Medicaid has delayed the implementation of General Provider Transmittal #56 indefinitely. Providers should NOT implement the previously announced changes to billing codes and modifiers that were scheduled to take effect February 1, 2002.

Immediately: Do NOT implement any coding changes described in Transmittal #56. Continue using current billing procedures and local W-codes until further notice. Wait for notification of revised effective date and any additional changes before making any system updates.
