Summary

Additionally, new enrollment restrictions and premium requirements are being implemented for families at specific income levels.
Action Required
By July 1, 2003: Billing team must stop submitting secondary claims to MCHP Premium for copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance when patients have employer-sponsored insurance as primary coverage. Update billing system rules to prevent automatic secondary billing for these patients. Verify patient eligibility through Maryland's EVS system at (410) 333-3020 or 1 (800) 492-2134 before each visit. All secondary claims for ESI patients will be denied for services on or after July 1, 2003.
