Summary

Maryland is launching a new Primary Adult Care (PAC) program on July 1, 2006, combining two existing programs to provide primary care and pharmacy benefits for low-income adults age 19+ through managed care organizations. Providers must contract directly with PAC MCOs to participate, and some services will be carved out for fee-for-service billing.

Action Required

Action needed
By July 1, 2006: Providers interested in serving PAC members must contract with one or more PAC MCOs - contact MCOs directly to establish contracts. Billing team must update systems to recognize yellow and white Medical Care Program cards for carved-out services (specialty mental health pharmacy, outpatient specialty mental health, HIV drugs, pharmacy prior to MCO enrollment) and verify PAC enrollee status through EVS System messages.
