By October 1, 2007: All providers prescribing to Medicaid patients must obtain tamper-resistant prescription pads with at least one security feature from approved vendors. By October 1, 2008: Prescription pads must have all three security features. Pharmacists must verify non-compliant prescriptions with prescribers and document verification. Non-compliance will result in non-reimbursement by Medicaid except for 72-hour emergency supplies.
