Summary
Effective April 1, 2026, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois is updating their Medicaid claim status lookup system with new Payer IDs and enhanced informational messages. Providers must use the new Payer ID MCIL2 for all Blue Cross Community Health Plans members starting April 1, 2026.
Action Required
By April 1, 2026: Billing team must update claim status lookup systems to use new Payer ID MCIL2 for all Blue Cross Community Health Plans members for all dates of service. Continue using Payer ID MCDIL only for Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative members with dates of service on or before December 31, 2025. Update billing software settings and train staff on new Availity Essentials tool features.
