Summary
Maryland Medical Assistance Program is increasing reimbursement rates for nursing services by 4% effective January 1, 2021. All nursing service codes under COMAR 10.09.53, 10.09.27, and 10.09.69 will have updated payment rates. The assessment code (T1001) is exempt from the 4% increase and remains at $150.00.
Action Required
By December 31, 2020: Billing team must update all fee schedules in the billing system to reflect the new Fiscal Year 2021 nursing service rates provided in the attached rate table. Update rates for codes T1001, W1002, T1002, T1030, T1003, T1031, W1000, T1021, and T1004 in the Medicaid billing module. Providers and billing staff must be notified of the rate changes. Beginning January 1, 2021, bill all nursing services using the new rates for services rendered on or after that date.
