Summary
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois is upgrading their payment systems in July 2026. Providers currently receiving paper checks who are enrolled with Zelis Payments Network will automatically be switched to electronic payments unless they email BCBSIL to opt out and continue receiving paper checks.
Action Required
Before July 2026: If you receive paper checks from BCBSIL and are enrolled with Zelis Payments Network but want to continue receiving paper checks, email BCBSIL with your request and include your tax ID number. Otherwise, no action needed - payments will automatically switch to electronic format based on your Zelis preferences.
