Summary
Effective July 1, 2022, the Maryland Medical Assistance Program increased reimbursement rates for Medical Day Care Services by 12%. The per diem rate increased from $93.58 to $104.81, and the temporary administrative rate increased from $46.79 to $52.40 for FY23 only. This increase includes statutory increases, Senate Bill 290 funding, and a temporary 4% American Rescue Plan Act enhancement.
Action Required
By July 1, 2022: Billing team must update all fee schedules and rate tables in the billing system for Maryland Medicaid Medical Day Care Services to reflect new rates: per diem from $93.58 to $104.81 and administrative rate from $46.79 to $52.40. Update claim submission templates and provider documentation. Ensure all claims submitted on or after July 1, 2022 use the new rates. Note that the temporary 4% increase (part of the 12% total) is for FY23 only and will require rate adjustment in subsequent fiscal years.
