Summary

Maryland Medicaid updated enrollment requirements for Behavior Technicians (BTs) providing Applied Behavior Analysis services, requiring specific documentation and providing a 90-day grace period for RBT certification submission. BTs who enrolled before 10/1/22 and missed the 12/31/22 deadline are now suspended and must reactivate through supplemental application.

Action Required

Action needed
Immediately: ABA providers must verify BT enrollment status using Maryland's Provider Verification System at https://encrypt.emdhealthchoice.org/searchableProv/main.action before scheduling services. For suspended BTs, assist them in uploading RBT certification via supplemental application in ePREP to reactivate enrollment. Update credentialing tracking to ensure all new BTs follow the 5-step enrollment process including specialty code 325 and high school diploma attachment.
