Action Required

Action needed
By August 1, 2023: Billing team must update all fee schedules in the billing system for Maryland Medicaid patients to reflect the new reimbursement rates. Access the updated Maryland Healthy Smiles fee schedule at https://health.maryland.gov/mmcp/pages/provider-information.asp and input the new rates for all 66 affected dental codes (Tier 1: 20% increase; Tier 2: 5.49% increase). Verify that the system applies the correct rates for dates on or after August 1, 2023. Notify clinical staff and front desk to ensure claims submitted on or after the effective date use updated rates. Failure to update rates may result in underbilling and revenue loss. For questions, contact Claire Serio, Division Chief, at mdh.dentalgroup@maryland.gov.
