Summary
Maryland Medical Assistance Program increases reimbursement rates by 8% for Autism Waiver Services effective January 1, 2024. All service codes under the Waiver for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder program receive the increase, except Environmental Accessibility Adaptation which maintains its current rate. Billing teams must update fee schedules and systems to reflect new payment rates for claims processed on or after the effective date.
Action Required
By December 31, 2023: Billing team must update all billing system fee schedules and rate tables to reflect the new FY 2024 rates for all 11 Autism Waiver service codes (Z9300, W9304, Z9301, W9305, W9306, W9307, W9308, W9311, W9314, W9315, W9320). Verify that W9320 (Environmental Accessibility Adaptation) remains at $2,104 per 36-month period and is NOT subject to the 8% increase. Update provider documentation and internal rate guides. Beginning January 1, 2024, bill all Autism Waiver services using the new rates provided in the fee schedule. Notify all staff members providing or billing these services of the rate changes.
