Summary
Effective June 1, 2023, ConnectiCare Medicare Advantage members will receive new member ID cards and authorization requests must be submitted directly to ConnectiCare through their secure provider portal instead of through Optum Care Network. Optum Care will no longer handle utilization management or case management for these members.
Action Required
By June 1, 2023: Billing and authorization staff must update workflows to submit all medical authorization requests for ConnectiCare Medicare Advantage members directly to ConnectiCare through their secure provider portal, not through Optum Care. Submit pharmacy authorization requests to ConnectiCare's pharmacy contacts. Update patient records when members present new ID cards and refer to the back of new ID cards for authorization contact information. Call ConnectiCare Medicare Provider Customer Service at 877-224-8230 (8am-6pm, Mon-Fri) for questions.
