Summary
EmblemHealth now requires third-party billing companies to use the provider portal before calling customer service, effective October 1, 2023. A new Provider Portal Account Request form has been created to help with account setup and TIN management issues.
Action Required
Immediately: If using third-party billing companies, ensure they access the EmblemHealth provider portal before calling customer service. Billing team must share the provided web pages with billers to show proper portal usage. For new billing companies, use the Provider Portal Account Request form to link TINs to existing accounts. When phone calls are necessary, billers must provide the Message ID from the portal to customer service representatives.
