Summary
EmblemHealth is discontinuing several Medicare Advantage plans effective December 31, 2023, including VIP Essential (HMO), VIP Reserve Classic (HMO), and VIP Dual (HMO D-SNP). Members in these plans will be disenrolled and must select new coverage.
Action Required
By December 31, 2023: Billing team must identify all patients enrolled in EmblemHealth VIP Essential (HMO), VIP Reserve Classic (HMO), and VIP Dual (HMO D-SNP) plans. Update patient insurance information in practice management system as patients obtain new coverage. Front desk staff should verify new insurance at appointments starting January 1, 2024.
