Summary
EmblemHealth now covers silver diamine fluoride (SDF) treatment for all Medicaid/HARP members regardless of age, effective January 1, 2025. This topical cavity treatment can now be billed using dental code D1354 for interim caries arresting medicament.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to allow billing of dental code D1354 (Interim Caries Arresting Medicament) for EmblemHealth Medicaid/HARP members of all ages when silver diamine fluoride is used for cavity treatment. Update encounter forms and notify dental providers of this new coverage.
