Summary
Pennsylvania Medical Assistance (Medicaid) now accepts electronic submissions for dental prior authorizations, program exceptions, and benefit limit exceptions via secure encrypted email to RA-FFS_Dental@pa.gov. Dental providers can continue using paper submissions via mail but now have the option to submit electronically for faster processing.
Action Required
Immediately: Dental providers can begin submitting PA requests (MA 98 forms), program exceptions (MA 97 forms), and benefit limit exceptions (MA 549 forms) electronically via secure encrypted email to RA-FFS_Dental@pa.gov. Billing team should ensure email encryption capability and update workflow procedures to include electronic submission option. Paper submissions via US mail remain acceptable.
