Summary
Pennsylvania is issuing redesigned Medical Assistance (Medicaid) ACCESS ID cards starting summer 2020. The new cards are white with blue/black lettering (replacing yellow cards) and no longer have magnetic or signature strips, but contain the same patient information.
Action Required
Immediately: Train front desk staff to accept both new white ACCESS cards and existing yellow ACCESS cards as valid Medicaid identification. Continue using the Eligibility Verification System (EVS) to check patient eligibility regardless of card color. No changes to billing processes are required.
