Summary
Pennsylvania Medicaid providers delivering personal care services must use Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) systems to electronically verify service delivery including type, recipient, date, location, provider name, and start/end times. Claims without corresponding EVV data will be denied starting January 1, 2021.
Action Required
By January 1, 2021: Providers delivering personal care services under Pennsylvania Medicaid waivers must implement Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) systems that capture required data elements (service type, recipient name, date, location, provider name, start/end times). Complete mandatory EVV training and obtain login credentials from the Department. Train all direct care staff on EVV processes. Configure systems to interface with Pennsylvania's EVV Aggregator. Claims without corresponding EVV verification will be denied after January 1, 2021.
