Summary
Medical Assistance (Medicaid) now allows CRNPs and PAs employed by or contracted with physician groups to be identified as the rendering provider on claims, though payment still goes to the employing/contracting physician or group. CRNPs and PAs under these arrangements must set up fee assignment to their employing physician/group.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team may optionally update claims to identify CRNPs and PAs as rendering providers when employed by or contracted with physicians, but must ensure the physician/group remains the billing provider. CRNPs and PAs in these arrangements must complete fee assignment to their employing/contracting physician via ePEAP portal or submit Request for Assignment of Fees form to ensure proper payment routing.
