Pennsylvania Medicaid now covers street medicine services provided to homeless beneficiaries in their lived environment (under bridges, encampments, etc.). Eligible providers must use Place of Service 15 with modifier U2 when billing for these services.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update system to use Place of Service (POS) 15 with U2 modifier when providing services to Medicaid beneficiaries experiencing unsheltered homelessness in their lived environment. Update billing software rules for eligible provider types (physicians, CRNPs, PAs, CNMs, psychologists, MMHT providers, MH practitioners). Verify updated MA Program Fee Schedule for approved codes with POS 15 + U2 combination.
