Summary
Starting October 1, 2025, Florida Blue and Truli for Health will no longer cover OneTouch diabetes supplies on their commercial plan formularies. Members must switch to preferred brands (Ascensia Contour or Abbott Freestyle) for coverage, or pay out-of-pocket for OneTouch products.
Action Required
Before October 1, 2025: Billing team must identify patients using OneTouch diabetes supplies covered by Florida Blue or Truli for Health commercial plans. Providers should proactively contact these patients to prescribe alternative Ascensia Contour or Abbott Freestyle products. Update patient records and prescription preferences in EMR. Note that FreeStyle products cannot be filled at pharmacy until October 1, 2025, while Contour products are available immediately.
