Summary
Michigan's Healthy Kids Dental program is expanding to cover beneficiaries age 13-20 in Kent, Oakland, and Wayne counties through Delta Dental, with enrollment changing to modified full-month prospective enrollment. Dentists must participate with Delta Dental to treat these beneficiaries and cannot balance bill patients.
Action Required
By October 1, 2016: Dental practices in Kent, Oakland, and Wayne counties must enroll with Delta Dental to treat Medicaid beneficiaries age 13-20. Billing staff must verify beneficiary eligibility and enrollment in Healthy Kids Dental prior to each appointment through CHAMPS or Delta Dental Customer Services (800-482-8915). Update billing procedures to submit claims to Delta Dental for HK-Dental beneficiaries instead of MDHHS. For treatments started before October 1, 2016, bill MDHHS using the original begin date as date of service.
