Summary
MI Health Link beneficiaries can now remain enrolled in the program while receiving hospice services, effective November 1, 2016. Hospice agencies must notify the Integrated Care Organization (ICO) for care management authorization and bill Medicare for hospice services while billing the ICO for nursing home room and board.
Action Required
Immediately: Hospice agencies must establish workflow to notify beneficiary's ICO when MI Health Link members elect hospice services. Update billing procedures to bill Medicare for hospice services and ICO for nursing home room and board. Monitor beneficiary enrollment status and submit DCH-1074 form to MDHHS if beneficiary disenrolls from MI Health Link. Do not submit DCH-1074 for beneficiaries remaining in MI Health Link.
