Home health agencies must submit MSA-181 forms for all services provided on or after August 1, 2018, with requests due at least 15 business days before current authorization expires.
Action Required
By August 1, 2018: Home health agencies must implement prior authorization workflow for all home health aide services beyond initial 90 days. Submit MSA-181 forms with required documentation (Face-to-Face encounter, POC, OASIS) to MDHHS Program Review Division at least 15 business days before authorization expires. Update billing system to include PA numbers on all claims. Failure to obtain prior authorization will result in no payment for services rendered without authorization.
