Starting July 1, 2018, pregnant women enrolled in Medicaid Health Plans will receive dental services through managed care instead of fee-for-service. This change affects dental billing for pregnant Medicaid beneficiaries throughout pregnancy and postpartum periods.

By July 1, 2018: Dental providers must verify managed care dental coverage for pregnant Medicaid beneficiaries through their MHP instead of traditional fee-for-service. Contact MHPs for beneficiary eligibility information before providing services. Note that Healthy Kids Dental program members continue with existing coverage.
