Summary

Starting October 1, 2018, Michigan's Healthy Kids Dental program will offer beneficiaries a choice between two dental health plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Delta Dental of Michigan). Providers must enroll in the specific DHP networks to treat HKD beneficiaries and must bill the appropriate DHP instead of fee-for-service Medicaid.

Action Required

Action needed
By October 1, 2018: Dental providers must enroll in Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and/or Delta Dental of Michigan networks to continue treating Healthy Kids Dental beneficiaries. Update billing system to bill the patient's assigned DHP instead of Medicaid fee-for-service. Verify patient's DHP assignment through CHAMPS before each visit. For treatments started before October 1 but completed after, bill fee-for-service using the original start date as date-of-service.
