Summary
Limited License Psychologists (LLPs) must now enroll as individual Medicaid providers with their own NPI and be identified on claims as rendering providers, rather than billing under their supervisor's NPI. LLPs must associate with a billing organization and will be reimbursed through that entity starting March 1, 2020.
Action Required
By February 29, 2020: LLPs currently enrolled must designate a billing provider by contacting Provider Support at 800-292-2550 to avoid claim denials. Starting March 1, 2020: Billing team must update claim submission to include LLP's individual NPI in the Rendering Provider field and supervising LP's NPI in the Supervising Provider field for all supervised LLP services. Stop billing LLP services under the supervisor's NPI as the rendering provider.
