Summary
Michigan Medicaid now allows Tribal 638 facilities to enroll as Tribal FQHCs with expanded telemedicine coverage and reimbursement outside facility walls using the Indian Health Services all-inclusive rate. This creates new billing options for telemedicine services and off-site care for Tribal facilities.
Action Required
For Tribal 638 facilities only: Update provider enrollment in CHAMPS system by selecting 'Tribal FQHC' subspecialty if choosing the alternative payment methodology. Update billing procedures to use modifier GT for all telemedicine claims with appropriate HCPCS/CPT codes and revenue codes. Ensure contracted telemedicine providers are associated with Tribal FQHC Billing NPI during enrollment.
