Summary
Michigan Medicaid extends prior authorization for Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) services from 6 to 12 months, allows initial visits via telemedicine, and expands psychiatric consultant role to include mental health nurse practitioners. Tribal health centers should use HCPCS code G0512 for billing.
Action Required
By November 1, 2022: Billing team must update prior authorization tracking for CoCM services to reflect new 12-month initial authorization period (extended from 6 months). Update telemedicine billing procedures to allow dual audio-visual visits for initial CoCM assessments. Tribal health centers must use HCPCS code G0512 for CoCM services billing outside All-Inclusive Rate.
