Summary
Michigan is ending COVID-19 nursing facility bed flexibilities effective May 12, 2023. Facilities must transition Medicaid residents from non-Medicaid certified beds back to appropriate beds and submit required reports by June 11, 2023.
Action Required
By June 11, 2023: Nursing facilities must submit Medicare or Licensed-Only Bed Use Report (COVID-19) spreadsheet to MDHHS-NFISOLATION@michigan.gov. Immediately: Move all Medicaid residents from non-Medicaid certified beds to appropriate Medicaid beds before admitting new residents. By May 31, 2023: Submit Medicaid bed certification exception requests if needed with required documentation including BCHS-HFD-100, Appendix D, and floor plans.
