Summary
Effective June 1, 2024, dental providers must use the new CHAMPS system to verify five-year frequency rules for crowns, complete dentures, and partial dentures instead of emailing Provider Support for service request numbers. All previously approved service request numbers become invalid on June 1, 2024.
Action Required
By June 1, 2024: Dental providers must stop using email-based service request numbers and begin using the CHAMPS Dental Frequency Verification function to verify five-year rule eligibility for crowns, complete dentures, and partial dentures before rendering services. Retain screenshots of CHAMPS verification and response dates in patient dental records. Failure to complete verification may result in denied claims.
