Summary

Action Required
By October 1, 2024: Michigan providers serving Medicaid behavioral health patients ages 0-21 must implement MichiCANS Screener and Comprehensive assessment tools. Update intake processes to use new eligibility criteria for mild/moderate, severe/serious, and crisis levels of care. Stop using CAFAS and PECFAS assessments. Train staff on new MichiCANS scoring system and decision support model criteria.
