Summary
Effective January 1, 2026, Florida Blue will only accept Peer-to-Peer review requests from the member's actual treating or attending physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner who was part of the care team. Physician Advisors who were not actively involved in the member's care can no longer participate in P2P reviews on behalf of treating providers.
Action Required
By January 1, 2026: Update P2P review request procedures to ensure only treating/attending physicians, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners from the actual care team submit and participate in peer-to-peer reviews. Train staff on new eligibility requirements and update internal workflows to verify provider involvement in patient care before submitting P2P requests via 1-800-955-5692. Non-treating Physician Advisors will no longer be accepted for P2P reviews.
