Summary
Michigan Medicaid will suspend Fee-for-Service payments for FQHCs and RHCs that fail to submit required cost reports on time. Cost reports must be submitted by the last day of the fifth month after the cost reporting period ends, or payments will be suspended 30 days after a delinquency notice.
Action Required
Before July 1, 2025: FQHC and RHC billing teams must establish tracking system to ensure Medicaid Cost Reports are submitted to CHAMPS Facility Settlement system by the last day of the fifth month following cost reporting period end. Set calendar reminders 60 days before deadline. Identify backup staff for cost report preparation. Failure to submit on time will result in suspension of all Fee-for-Service payments until report is accepted.
