Summary
Starting August 1, 2025, MI Health Link will provide coverage for Targeted Case Management - Recuperative Care services, following the same process as Medicaid Health Plans. Prior authorization must be obtained from MDHHS for room and board, and from the Integrated Care Organization (ICO) for care coordination services.
Action Required
Before August 1, 2025: Billing team must update prior authorization procedures for MI Health Link beneficiaries seeking recuperative care services. Obtain prior auth from MDHHS Program Review Division for room and board charges, and contact the ICO for care coordination prior authorization. Update billing workflows to ensure coordination between ICO care coordinators and recuperative care providers to avoid duplicate services.
