Summary
Michigan requires Home Help providers to log Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for services provided outside the client's home using HHAeXchange or approved third-party systems. Services must be categorized as either 'Community' visits (shopping, workplace services, short stays) or 'Secondary Address' visits (educational settings, stays over 30 days).
Action Required
Before August 1, 2025: Home Help providers in Michigan must ensure their EVV mobile applications can capture and log services provided outside client homes. Update staff training on using 'Community' vs 'Home' service delivery location settings in HHAeXchange+ or equivalent third-party systems. Ensure clients notify their MDHHS Adult Services Worker of service addresses before visits occur.
