By October 2008: All billing staff must establish provider accounts on the new ForwardHealth Portal at www.forwardhealth.wi.gov/ to verify member enrollment. Update workflows to use new 10-digit member ID numbers instead of Social Security-based numbers. Train staff on new enrollment verification methods including Portal, WiCall (800-947-3544), and 270/271 transactions. Always verify enrollment before providing services as member cards do not guarantee current enrollment status.
