Summary
Wisconsin ForwardHealth is implementing a new web-based portal system (ForwardHealth interChange) in November 2008 that allows providers to submit professional and institutional claims online, make adjustments to paid claims, and view claim status through Direct Data Entry. This replaces the existing Medicaid Management Information System and affects all Wisconsin Medicaid programs including BadgerCare Plus.
Action Required
Before November 2008: Billing team must prepare to transition from the existing Wisconsin MMIS to the new ForwardHealth Portal at www.forwardhealth.wi.gov/. Staff must learn the new Direct Data Entry system for submitting professional and institutional claims online. Set up secure Provider area access and train staff on new claim submission, adjustment, and status viewing processes.
