Summary
ForwardHealth is upgrading Provider Electronic Solutions (PES) software to version 3.0 to comply with HIPAA 5010 standards. Providers must upgrade by December 16, 2011, complete compliance testing, and will no longer be able to copy claims from previous versions.
Action Required
By December 16, 2011: All providers must upgrade to PES 3.0 software from the ForwardHealth Portal Trading Partner area. Before upgrading: run archiving function, submit all ready transactions, and review the version 3.0 user manual. After upgrading: complete mandatory compliance testing using the PES Trading Partner Testing Packet. Complete all claim adjustments, voids, and resubmissions in current PES version before upgrading as claims cannot be copied between versions. Update provider lists with new taxonomy codes and subpart NPIs. Failure to upgrade by deadline will prevent claim submission.
