Summary
Security Health Plan now requires decimal billing for time-based therapy codes when treating BadgerCare Plus members who receive less than one full unit of therapy. For example, 7.5 minutes of a 15-minute therapy code must be billed as 0.5 units.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update therapy billing procedures to use decimal units for BadgerCare Plus members when providing partial therapy sessions. Train staff to calculate decimal units (minutes provided ÷ code time unit) for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy time-based codes. Update billing system to accept decimal entries for therapy codes.
