BCBS Mississippi updated their Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) policy requiring prior authorization for multiple ITP medications including IVIG products, rituximab biosimilars, eltrombopag (Promacta), and fostamatinib (Tavalisse). Several medications are now considered not medically necessary including Doptelet, Wayrilz, and brand-name Rituxan.
