Summary
Oregon Health Authority expanded Medicaid coverage for telehealth and telephone services with retroactive effective date of January 1, 2020. Three telephone consultation CPT codes (99441, 99442, 99443) received significant reimbursement rate increases to match in-person service rates.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update Oregon Medicaid fee schedules in billing system with new rates - CPT 99441 to $16.04, CPT 99442 to $31.44, and CPT 99443 to $51.97. Update encounter forms to include these telephone consultation codes. Retroactively rebill any Oregon Medicaid claims for these codes from January 1, 2020 forward to capture higher reimbursement rates.
