Summary

Oregon Health Authority has temporarily suspended credentialing requirements for COVID-19 vaccination administration providers enrolled in Medicare or other state Medicaid programs. CCOs can now rely on existing enrollments and allow non-enrolled providers to bill under supervising enrolled practitioners for COVID-19 vaccine administration.

Immediately: Billing team must identify COVID-19 vaccine administration providers by looking for 'COVID' in the license number field in weekly provider enrollment files. For non-enrolled vaccine administrators (traveling pharmacists, EMTs, RNs, National Guard), submit claims using the supervising enrolled pharmacist or medical provider as the rendering provider. Update billing system to accept these provider arrangements for COVID-19 vaccine administration claims.
