Summary

Beginning September 1, 2021, Oregon's Medicaid point-of-sale system requires the NCPDP Quantity Prescribed field (460-ET) for all Schedule II medication claims. Claims missing this field will be automatically denied with reject code ET - M/I Quantity Prescribed.

By September 1, 2021: Pharmacies must work with their software vendors to ensure the NCPDP Quantity Prescribed field (460-ET) is captured and populated on all Schedule II controlled substance claims submitted to Oregon Medicaid. Claims with blank, zero, or missing values in this field will be denied without override options.
