Summary
Oregon Health Authority updated fee-for-service hospice payment rates effective October 1, 2021, including new revenue code 650 for routine home care after day 60 and enhanced rates for nursing facilities paying higher CNA wages. Hospice providers must use different revenue codes based on length of stay and verify nursing facility Enhanced Wage Add-on program participation.
Action Required
Immediately: Update billing system to use revenue code 651 for routine home care days 1-60 and revenue code 650 for days 61+. For readmissions within 60 days, count prior hospice days to determine billing rate. For nursing facility residents, verify Enhanced Wage Add-on program approval and enter facility's Oregon Medicaid provider number in Facility Number field when applicable. Submit quality data to CMS before billing for services on/after October 1, 2021 to avoid reduced payment rates.
