Summary
Oregon Health Authority clarified that Co-Occurring Disorder (COD) providers will be 'approved' rather than 'certified' for 2023 CCO contracts. This is a terminology change - wherever the contract says 'certified' COD providers, it now means 'approved' COD providers through OHA's Behavioral Health unit instead of the Licensing and Certification unit.
Action Required
By December 31, 2022: Billing team should review OHA's Integrated Co-Occurring Disorders webpage for the new COD Provider approval process information. Update internal documentation to reflect that 'certified' COD providers in contracts now means 'approved' COD providers. Monitor communications from OHA about the mechanism for CCO notifications regarding approved COD providers.
