Summary

Oregon Health Authority implemented new CCOF plan type effective January 1, 2023, requiring CCOs to pay for non-emergent medical transportation (NEMT) services when using contracted providers for covered services. For CCOF members with OHP Dental benefits, CCOs only cover NEMT for dental services and related prescriptions.

Action needed
Immediately: Billing team must verify CCOF member benefit plans in MMIS before arranging NEMT services. For members with OHP Plus (BMH, BMM, or BMD identifiers), bill CCO for NEMT related to all covered services. For members with OHP Dental (DEN or DNT identifiers), only bill CCO for NEMT related to dental services and prescriptions.
