Summary
Oregon Health Authority will increase Medicaid telehealth reimbursement rates by switching from flat COVID-era rates to higher RVU-based rates. The new rates represent significant increases - for example, CPT 99441 non-facility will increase from $16.04 to $41.35.
Action Required
By June 2, 2023: Review proposed telehealth rate changes and submit comments to jesse.anderson@oha.oregon.gov if desired. Monitor for final implementation date announcement. Once effective, billing team should verify Oregon Medicaid telehealth claims are processing at the new higher rates for CPT codes 99441, 99442, and 99443.
