Summary
Oregon Health Plan will soon require children under 19 to receive COVID-19 and flu vaccines only from VFC (Vaccines for Children) enrolled providers when commercialization occurs (expected Q4 2023). The current 'No Wrong Door' policy allowing any Medicaid provider to administer children's vaccines will end.
Action Required
Before commercialization (expected Q4 2023): Verify VFC enrollment status using the Public Health Division's map at oregon.gov or contact VFC help desk at 800-980-9431. If not VFC-enrolled, stop administering COVID-19 and flu vaccines to Oregon Health Plan children under 19. Update billing workflows to ensure only VFC providers bill for vaccine administration to OHP pediatric patients.
